There is a genocide of coloured people on the Cape Flats – Fadiel Adams

National Coloured Congress founder Fadiel Adams says there is a genocide of the coloured people happening on the Cape Flats.

He made this claim during a Truth Report political debate, which focused on race, crime, housing and service delivery in Cape Town.

Adams argued that over the last 20 years, the Democratic Alliance has not done much to improve the lives of coloured people

“I stand here, and I tell you today, as corrupt as FW de Klerk was, he thought more about Coloured lives than this Zionist DA,” he said.

“In Bishop’s Court, they have dog parks. This is proof that the Democratic Alliance thinks more of a white man’s dog than a coloured person’s child.”

“There were ‘whites only’ signs on the beaches during apartheid. They’ve just replaced it with economics, that’s all they’ve done.”

He added that, after 1994, coloured military veterans were not treated with the same respect as their white and black counterparts.

“They integrated our black brothers from the ANC’s uMkhonto weSizwe. It needed to happen. They kept the white soldiers,” Adams said.

“However, they turned around and told the coloureds, ‘Go home, we’ll call you when we need you.’ They’re still at home.”

He criticised those who advise against discussing race, warning that ignoring these systemic issues leaves the community vulnerable to ongoing violence.

“There is a genocide of the coloured people happening, and it’s happening on the Cape Flats. We are standing up against it with or without you,” he said.

He dismissed claims that there is sufficient representation of coloured people in local governance, calling it a false picture.

“If we take control of the safety and security portfolio, we will expose what has been happening behind closed doors,” he said.

The Democratic Alliance’s JP Smith hit back, saying that Adams’ obsession with race is misguided and will not help to resolve problems.

“A leader whose core philosophy pits races and religions against each other is flawed and cannot lead a diverse city,” he said.

“If you have a perpetual victim culture, it undermines healthy thinking. You misdiagnose the problems if you wrap it in race.”

He dismissed Adams’ claims that the DA focuses its resources on rich areas, especially when it comes to security.

“65% of our policing resources daily are working in poor areas alone, and 1,300 law enforcement officers are sitting in the highest crime-affected areas,” he said.

This Adams character seems a very confused man who does not know that his claim of the so-called “genocide of the coloured people happening, and it’s happening on the Cape Flats” is from his own people. He doesn’t even know that the. SAP falls under the National Government. He joins the ANC and has a vendetta under against the DA. This Adams is the leader of his own minute party- —received 0.23% of the national vote and 2.38% of the vote in the Western Cape provincial election during the 2024 South African general election.
