Call for DA strategist’s head after his attacks on United States leaders
DA strategist Ryan Coetzee has launched an attack on the United States’ top leaders, which has, in turn, sparked a backlash from respected political commentators.
The issue started after Coetzee criticised a speech by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio from Pnyx Hill near the Acropolis in Athens, Greece.
In his speech, Rubio praised Western civilisation and said it was something worthy of pride and defence.
He praised the Greeks of antiquity for their pursuit of excellence, which was the very principle of man’s existence.
“The classical Greek city was an arena for great men to test and prove themselves, to be the best, the strongest, straining to inch ever closer to perfection,” he said.
“The men who made the Parthenon built upwards. They held that the highest and most noble aspiration was to surpass all others, to strive to be the best in all things.”
During the speech, he laid out a vision for American foreign policy and argued that Western civilisation is facing a cultural, ideological, and geopolitical existential crisis.
Rubio warned that the West is at an inflexion point threatened by self-doubt, internal decay, and institutional guilt.
“Today, too much of the West has forgotten this quality. Over time, we in the West came to feel ashamed of the very things that made us exceptional,” he said.
“We felt embarrassed that our achievements set us apart from the rest of the world. Our prosperity somehow became a source of guilt.”
He said that the West finds itself at a crossroads and that the decisions over the next decade will write the story of the next century.
“Under President Donald Trump, the United States has made its choice. We choose the unapologetic pursuit of national power,” he said.
“We will take back control of our supply chains, reindustrialise our economy, rebuild our defence, and fight for dominance of the technologies and industries of the future.”
Ryan Coetzee slated Rubio, Trump, and Hegseth

DA strategist Ryan Coetzee responded to the speech in a social media post, arguing that this was the wrong direction for the West.
“The West isn’t one tradition. There are competing traditions,” he said in a post referencing Rubio’s speech.
“Those different ways of seeing the world and our place in it have been in competition and often bloody conflict for 3000 years.”
“Trump, Hegseth and Rubio do indeed represent one of those traditions, but it’s the wrong one. It needs to be defeated again. And again and again, if necessary.”
He also took aim at the United States Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, who announced that the public will be able to watch the execution of a former US Army major.
The former US Army major, Nidal Hasan, killed 13 unarmed US military personnel and injured 32 others at a military base in Texas in 2009.
“While Rubio stands on the Acropolis and lays claim to Western civilisation, Hegseth seeks to degrade it by reintroducing public executions in America,” Coetzee said.
He argued that this was a new low in the ongoing search for a bottom from the United States’ top leaders.
He also attacked U.S. President Donald Trump over his deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin to import diesel in exchange for pausing sanctions.
“While the far left trash France, Donald Trump is saving Western civilisation by backing Putin over the people of Ukraine,” Coetzee said.
Frans Cronje calls for Ryan Coetzee’s head

Analysts and commentators from The Common Sense slated Coetzee’s comments and said that he should be fired.
Investor and author Simon Lincoln Reader said that Coetzee is not knowledgeable on these matters and that his comments are ignorant.
“You don’t know anything about this stuff. You’re an upward failure. You’ve been central to two notable electoral defeats,” he said.
“This response that he gives here is not worthy of the Democratic Alliance, which is a party that exists because of the foundations that were set where Marco Rubio spoke.”
“People need to pay attention to what Rubio has said, and less attention to these flippant and dismissive responses that guys like Coetzee have expressed.”
Lincoln Reader added that this was a poor and irresponsible representation of the DA. “I’m very disappointed that a representative from the DA is talking like that,” he said.
Renowned political analyst Frans Cronje said Coetzee’s comments were fatally bad and that the DA should fire him.
“This has to be the end. You cannot be this reckless about a relationship that is so critical to a party that is so important to the country’s future,” Cronje said.
“It is as reckless as Ronald Lamola’s comments on the US. Unambiguously and completely, this has to be the end of Coetzee.”
He said that the DA should dismiss Coetzee if it wants to get its foreign policy right again and play a constructive role in repairing relations with the United States.
Isn’t it interesting that the DA leadership is aligning itself with the objectives of the WEF in working towards a new world order in which ordinary people, the so-called useless eaters, become effectively enslaved. And in the one city where the DA rules supreme, the DA leader presides over a process of making it too expensive for ordinary Capetonians to own property. And now they attack a speech by a leader of the USA in which he aligns the policies of their government with an old tradition of striving for excellence, rather than a drift into mediocrity. And they want us to vote for them?
