Free Wimpy coffee, Spur ice cream, Krispy Kreme doughnut, and Vovo Telo cappuccino for everyone who votes on 4 November
Many companies, including Wimpy, Spur, Krispy Kreme, Vovo Telo, and Sorbet, are promising South Africans who vote on 4 November 2026 free products.
The 2026 Local Government Elections commenced across the country with special voting on Monday, 2 November, and Tuesday, 3 November 2026.
The main voting will take place on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, and many people anticipate a close race in South Africa’s main cities.
Many organisations have called on South Africans to exercise their constitutional right and vote in the 2026 Local Government Elections.
Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has urged eligible South Africans to vote to help shape their communities and hold elected councillors accountable.
The Joburg Crisis Alliance (JCA) has also called on every eligible voter in Johannesburg to exercise their democratic rights on Wednesday, 4 November 2026.
It said that the local government elections present an important opportunity to begin reversing the city’s decline.
Bert Pretorius, President of the South African Community of Faith-Based Fraternals and Federations (SACOFF), has made a similar call.
“On 4 November, South Africans are called to exercise one of the most important responsibilities of citizenship: participating in our democracy,” he said.
“We cannot complain about the direction of our country while surrendering our responsibility to help shape its future.”
Business Leadership South Africa CEO, Busisiwe Mavuso, said that the ultimate check on government delivery is the ballot box.
“Citizens can demand delivery, and I hope they do so in large numbers because this is an important moment to reflect on what must change,” she said.
