New multi-million-rand shopping mall with a Pick n Pay, Dis-Chem, Clicks, and Shoprite in South Africa’s capital
Construction on the new Kings Walk Mall shopping centre in Pretoria is progressing well and is scheduled for completion in April 2027.
The development falls under the Moolman Group, which owns and manages property portfolios across South Africa and abroad.
Kings Walk Mall is located on the corner of Solomon Mahlangu and Bronkhorstspruit Road, connecting the Eastern Tshwane district with outlying towns and businesses.
The centre will offer 30,000 square meters of retail space with 1,200 parking bays to serve residents of Mamelodi and the surrounding areas.
The area is undergoing road and infrastructure upgrades, as well as major residential development.
Recent additions include The Blyde development by Balwin Properties and the Cosmo development featuring 6,500 residential units.
The centre aims to provide visitors with a unique consumer experience, offering ample space for relaxation and entertainment.
“With a diverse range of national brands and local favourites, Kings Walk will offer quality, convenience, experience, and value,” the Moolman Group said.
Kings Walk Mall will have one entrance via Solomon Mahlangu Drive, which serves a commuter market leading in and out of Mamelodi.
The other entrance is via Bronkhorstspruit Road, which runs parallel to residential estates and aspirational residential units.
The stores located near the Bronkhorstspruit entrance will cater to middle to higher-income customers with suitable brands.
The entrance near Solomon Mahlangu will feature retailers that offer greater value to middle- to lower-income groups.
“This development will truly bring the pinnacle of retail convenience to this rapidly growing area,” the Moolman Group said.
A strong retail foundation has already been secured, with Shoprite, Boxer, Pick n Pay, Dis-Chem, Clicks, and Wal-Mart as anchor tenants.
Pick n Pay will be operated by a well-established franchisee with proven performance across multiple stores, bringing solid operational capability to the centre.
