MK Party MP celebrates brutal farm attack on Donovan Marx and calls white farmers land thieves
uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) Member of Parliament, Andile Mngxitama, has celebrated the brutal attack on white farmer Donovan Marx.
Mngxitama’s comments followed the attack on Marx on his farm in the Sannieshof area on 28 October 2026.
According to currently available information, a family member left the farm for work shortly before eight o’clock in the morning, after which the attack took place.
One of the farm workers was tied up by the attackers, but later managed to wriggle himself free and raised the alarm.
After the worker was tied up, the perpetrators attacked Marx with such brutality that it shocked South Africans.
North West Province Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Arthur Peter Adams, called it a very brutal and sadistic attack on an unsuspecting victim.
“During that incident, he was brutally tortured to the extent that his attackers cut off both of his earlobes,” he said.
He was also shot in the back and is currently recovering in a hospital in Potchefstroom with his family by his side.
In response to the attack, Mngxitama posted a comment on his X account which essentially welcomed the attack.
“Ventersdorp white farmer Donovan Marx had his ears cut off during a Plaas moord aanval,” he said.
“Attacking the ears is symbolic to denote the refusal of land thieves to listen. No land, no peace.”
Mngxitama added that farm life is overdetermined by systematic violence. “Blacks got killed and fed to pigs,” he said.

Freedom Front Plus chief whip Heloise Denner said that Mngxitama’s comments were unacceptable and will not go unpunished.
“Such remarks are unacceptable and have no place in a modern and civilised society,” Denner said in a statement.
“This is nothing short of hate speech and is emblematic of the barbarity that accompanies many farm attacks.”
The FF Plus will officially lodge a complaint with the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) and Parliament’s Ethics Committee.
“Behaviour and statements of this nature are completely unacceptable, particularly coming from a Member of Parliament who must respect the Constitution,” she said.
Every Member of Parliament takes an oath to obey the Constitution and the laws of the country, which explicitly prohibit hate speech.
Parliamentarians also undertake to act at all times in a way that places the interests of the public and Parliament above their own.
“Mngxitama does not belong in Parliament. The MK Party must unequivocally distance itself from these statements,” she said.
“They should immediately suspend Mngxitama from the party to show that it does not associate itself with such behaviour.”
“He will have to explain these irresponsible statements. The FF Plus will not remain silent while violence and racial hatred are incited.”
Mngxitama did not back down following the backlash. “Let them take me to court. We shall have a great time there,” he said.
