Cyril Ramaphosa is worse than Jacob Zuma

ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba said that if you look at Jacob Zuma and Cyril Ramaphosa, Jacob Zuma is a saint.

Mashaba commented on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s performance in an interview with JJ Tabane of the Frank Dialogue Podcast.

“I cannot understand how you can have a president who is a multi-billionaire going to the extent of stashing money in sofas and mattresses,” he said.

He added that it is hypocritical for Ramaphosa to tell South Africans to respect the law when he brings foreign currency into the country illegally.

“He brings money into the country, hires illegal, undocumented foreign nationals, and when there is a crime, he doesn’t report it to the police,” Mashaba said.

The ActionSA leader said that Ramaphosa’s presidency has been a disaster. “We never thought we would have a worse president than Jacob Zuma,” he said.

“I went into politics because of Jacob Zuma. If you look at Jacob Zuma and Cyril Ramaphosa, it is like Jacob Zuma is a saint.”

He also slated the African National Congress (ANC) for corruption. “Our engagement with the ANC didn’t start now. We never corrupted them,” he said.

“When they started going astray, we reached out to them because most of the older ones are people I grew up with.”

“But I can tell you, the more you engage the ANC to do the right thing, even up to today, the worse they get.”

Mashaba said that he finds it difficult to understand. “When you talk to them, they will look at you and say, ‘No, we’ll go and talk to our comrades,’ and disappear.”

“I honestly don’t know, even up to today, why when you try and engage the ANC to do the right thing, they want to do the exact opposite.”
