Corrupt ANC politicians, tenderpreneurs, hardcore criminals, and incompetent officials broke South Africa

Political Analyst Prince Mashele said that four characters broke South Africa: Corrupt ANC politicians, tenderpreneurs, hardcore criminals, and incompetent officials.

Mashele shared his views about the problems in South Africa during a State of the Nation breakfast event.

The first character, corrupt ANC politicians, are everywhere, including local municipalities, city boards, and at the national level.

The second, tenderpreneurs, are people who wear a suit and tie, pretending to be legitimate businessmen or businesswomen when they are not.

“They attend backroom meetings at night, and by morning, their bank account swells with money coming from the corrupt,” he said.

The third, hardcore criminals, step in when a government contract doesn’t go to a tenderpreneur but instead goes to a competitor.

“They hire a hitman to sort out the competition. As a result, they are busy murdering one another across the country,” he said.

The final character is an incompetent official. “If you visit any municipality or government department, you will find they are full of these individuals,” he said.

“If you told them to step down and try to work in the private sector, they wouldn’t even be able to write a basic letter.”

However, despite their incompetence, these individuals occupy senior positions and earn massive salaries.

Mashele said that these four characters formed an alliance which destroyed South Africa and need to be addressed as part of fixing the country.

Prince Mashele’s 10-point plan to fix South Africa

Prince Mashele

Prince Mashele proposes a 10-point plan to rescue South Africa, which includes getting rid of the characters listed above.

  • Diverse, ethical leadership: Stop the divide-and-rule politics that pit racial groups against one another.
  • Jail political criminals: A government task force should investigate and prosecute anyone in a ministerial or presidential position from the era of Jacob Zuma to Cyril Ramaphosa who committed crimes.
  • Professionalise the public service: Government jobs should be filled based on qualifications and proper interviews.
  • Prioritise education: Reposition schools and universities to deliver quality education with a specific emphasis on math, science, and technology.
  • Fix public healthcare: Improve the existing public clinics and hospitals rather than focusing on the proposed National Health Insurance (NHI).
  • Cut red tape: Make it easy to do business in South Africa to encourage investment and job creation.
  • Replace BEE with a redress program: End Black Economic Empowerment (BEE), which has only benefited a few well-connected individuals.
  • Rebuild public infrastructure: The reason infrastructure like roads and ports is failing is not a lack of engineering expertise, but because funds are being stolen.
  • Secure citizenship and borders: Take control of illegal immigration and corruption within the Department of Home Affairs.
  • Promote moral regeneration: Address the breakdown of social structures, particularly in black communities.

He said that these ten points should form the foundation of a process to fix South Africa and set it on a growth path.
