White South Africans live like hobos in Australia – ANC SG

ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula mocked white South Africans who emigrated to Australia, claiming they are now living like hobos and regret leaving.

Mbalula made these comments during a speech in Mogwase in Rustenburg ahead of the ANC’s celebrations on Saturday, 10 January 2026.

Throughout the speech, Mbalula made controversial statements about race and the economy, focusing on differences between the black and white population groups.

“Have you seen an unemployed white person? Have you seen a white person who lives in a shack?” he asked the crowd.

“I went to Australia with the Springboks. White people left this country and went to Australia.”

“There in Australia, they are living like hobos. They regret the fact that they have left their country under the threat that the communists are going to take over,” Mbalula told the crowd.

He stated that the largest beneficiaries of transformation policies and economic opening are white companies.

He said that white males still dominate the economy and that black people have not yet come close to controlling the means of production.

“They have doubled their profits since South Africa became a democracy. Yet, they went to America and badmouthed our country.”

He also bemoaned United States President Donald Trump giving refugee status to white South Africans affected by race-based policies.

“White car guards went to America,” Mbalula said, adding that they kill each other due to the breakdown of relationships.

He claimed that white South Africans who moved to America at Donald Trump’s invitation were cowards and implied they would eventually regret it.

Mbalula also attacked Tesla CEO and South African-born billionaire Elon Musk, calling him a “spoiled brat”.

He accused Musk of fabricating propaganda and lies regarding the treatment of white people in South Africa to influence President Donald Trump.
