Julius Malema says white supremacy is taking over South African metros and that they are anti-black

EFF leader Julius Malema said their poor performance in the 2026 local government elections is a setback for the party, but not the end.

He shared this information during a media session on Saturday, 7 November 2026, where he discussed the declining performance.

The EFF received 6.3% of the national vote, the party’s worst performance since it started contesting elections in 2014.

Malema put on a brave face, thanking the people of South Africa, who, across the length and breadth of this country, opened their homes to the EFF.

“We will reflect on where we improved, where we maintained our votes and where we experienced setbacks, and take the necessary steps for correction,” he said.

“A setback is not a defeat. It is an opportunity which gives us a moment to reflect on how to better present ourselves and our message of service delivery to the people.”

Malema said that despite receiving fewer votes, the EFF has captured many wards across the country in the 2026 local government elections.

“The EFF increased its numerical share of the vote in 48 municipalities from 2021, including across the Northern Cape and in Nelson Mandela Bay,” he said.

“We will not be shaken by noise from organisations which operate like Bantustans, who exist regionally and organise themselves along tribal lines.”

“As a national organisation with a national footprint, we remain confident in our ability to reclaim the lost ground and champion the struggles of ordinary people.”

Malema slated the DA and other white parties

During his address, Malema slated the ANC’s decision to form a government of national unity (GNU) with the DA and Freedom Front Plus.

“The liberation movement betrayed Chris Hani, Peter Mokaba and Winnie Mandela in 2024, and betrayed what was taught to us by those who liberated us,” he said.

He said that the ANC formed a government with the descendants and custodians of the legacy of De Klerk, Verwoerd, and Botha.

“The former liberation movement cleaned the image of the murderers of Chris Hani, Solomon Mahlangu, and Hector Pieterson before they accepted their apartheid sins.”

He questioned how the EFF can make sense of supporting the DA, whose policies and record are continually questioned for allowing spatial inequality to persist.

“Communities such as Langa, Gugulethu, Manenberg, and the Cape Flats continue to call for meaningful transformation,” he said.

He also slammed the ANC’s statement that there is nothing wrong with people who want to stop BEE, BELA, and land expropriation without compensation.

“Agents were groomed and planted in the liberation movement by the Oppenheimers using the Urban Foundation, the Brenthurst Foundation, and many others,” he said.

“They achieved their mission of disrupting, infiltrating and destroying the former liberation movement and returning political power to white supremacists.”

“The ANC allowed those who have infiltrated them to guide them towards white supremacy. White supremacy has taken over our metros today,” he said.

“This is a victory for those who went to the United States and claimed in the White House that there is a white genocide in South Africa, while denouncing the EFF.”

“It is a victory for AfriForum, which controls who leads the DA by blackmailing them using their Afrikaner lobby.”

He added that the changes were a victory for the Boeremag, who want to take this country back to apartheid.

Malema added that, despite their poor results, there was still an opportunity to stop what is a clear anti-black and anti-progressive agenda.

“We must take this opportunity before we lose this country forever to white supremacy, backwardness, and privatisation.”

Ag, Julius, I am so sorry. Kenne Kunene said you so desperately want to be white, and then you would also be part of the supremacists. It is not your fault Julius, one cannot choose your parents. But you can still cooperate with the winners of this election by turning your racist views around and offer your services to those who want to build and improve South Africa for all his inhabitants.
