ANC broke everything it touched in South Africa and must be removed from government
Freedom Front Plus leader Corne Mulder said the ANC has broken everything it has touched since the democratic elections in 1994.
He shared this view during an interview with Nuuspod about the local government elections in November 2026.
Mulder said that although it may seem that the Freedom Front Plus is attacking the Democratic Alliance in its election campaign, this is not the case.
He explained that it is their election strategy not to engage in battles with other political parties outside the ANC. However, there is one exception.
“If I am attacked, I have to defend myself. That’s what’s happening right now. I’m being attacked with half-truths and lies by the DA, but we aren’t looking for a fight,” he said.
He said that the Freedom Front Plus’ fight is strictly with the ANC. “I can assure you of that,” Mulder said.
“If you look at our manifesto launch, I said that our biggest crisis is that we must get rid of the ANC at every level of government across South Africa.”
“There is not a single thing in this country, nothing at all, that the ANC has touched over the last 32 years that hasn’t been broken.”
He said that the ANC tries to use clever words to hide its failures and to act as if it were not responsible for the country’s problems.
“Every time about something they’ve touched broke, they say, ‘It needs a turnaround strategy.’ What that actually means is that they broke it,” he said.
“There isn’t a single thing they haven’t broken. We will never fix this country and turn it around until we get rid of the ANC at every level of government.”
He said that this is what the Freedom Front Plus is working towards, and is willing to work with other parties to achieve this goal.
“I am fully prepared to work with other political parties. I extend my hand and say, ‘Let’s work together constructively,’” he said.
People should vote for a party because they agree with what it stands for

Mulder criticised the Democratic Alliance’s campaign against voting for smaller parties, saying it is not in the interest of coalition politics.
“There are 547 political parties registered in South Africa. Of those, only the DA is trying to make a point by claiming that everyone who isn’t them is small,” he said.
“It’s really unfortunate that they do this. It is unfair and unjust toward smaller parties. Parties should be judged by what they stand for.”
He argued that the Freedom Front Plus is not a small party. Since its inception, the FF Plus has always been among the 10 largest parties in South Africa.
“We are a large party represented in all eight metropoles, in all nine provinces, at the national level, and in provincial legislatures,” he said.
“Trying to dismiss voters and entice them away by saying you shouldn’t vote for a small or smaller party is reprehensible.”
He cited the David and Goliath battle, where the much smaller David defeated the giant Goliath. “I don’t think it’s a very clever strategy, and it speaks of desperation.”
He said that people should vote for a party because they agree with what it stands for, not because they are told it’s bigger than another party.
“The reality is that ever since the ANC fell below 50%, no one can claim ‘I am big enough to govern alone’,” he said.
If you can’t get more than half the votes on your own to govern, you aren’t big either. You are dependent on other parties to help you govern. That is where coalitions come in.”
The ANC “STOLE” EVERYTHING THEY TOUCHED-They were supposed to free our people from hardships, create jobs for all but instead they have pushed our people further into poverty with no job opportunities forcing them to join gangs, creating chaos in our townships while they continue to plunder the treasury. One female judge was elected in one of the Provinces probably earning a huge salary yet she acted like a gangster by throwing the Rule book into the dustbin along with the oath she took to uphold the law while taking bribes from one of the parties while judging the case. My view any judge, or senior government employee involved in corruption where there are indisputable evidence of guilt, should be relieved of their duties with No monthly salary paid until the outcome of the hearing. For sure this ANC under Cyril Ramaphosa has become a rotten corpse.
