Jacob Zuma stole the MK Party to loot the finances – Founder

The founder of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party), Jabulani Khumalo, alleged that Jacob Zuma stole his party for the sole purpose of looting the finances.

Khumalo shared his views on recent developments at the MK Party, including that Zuma has taken control of the party’s finances, during a Biznews interview.

Last week, the Mail & Guardian reported that Zuma, who now serves as MK President, has taken charge of the MK Party finances.

This, the newspaper reported, was done by revoking all signing authority on the party’s bank accounts from all party officials.

“Zuma’s decision comes after several senior party members were accused by other senior party members of stealing funds from the organisation,” it reported.

Khumalo told Biznews that he was not surprised by this development, as Zuma’s aim was to loot the MK Party’s finances.

He explained that after he founded the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, Zuma agreed to endorse the party while remaining an ANC member.

Khumalo and his team believed Zuma was being genuine. However, what followed surprised everyone involved in the process.

He said that once the party began gaining momentum, Zuma calculated it would gain real political power and substantial funding.

“We moved with him up until the numbers grew to a point where Zuma realised that this party is going to take over the country,” he said.

“After Zuma realised that the MK Party was going to have a lot of money, he stole the party from me.”

“Is nothing else that Zuma is interested in. It’s only money. You can’t divorce Zuma from money. If you put money here, Zuma will forget everything and take the money.”

Khumalo accused Zuma of forging his signature on a fraudulent letterhead to remove him as party leader and insert himself into the IEC registration records.

“Despite forensic reports confirming the signature was not mine, the Electoral Court has dragged its feet on resolving the dispute,” he said.

He said that, considering Zuma’s love for money, it is no surprise that he seized control of the MK Party’s finances.

He claimed that Zuma treats the MK Party the same way he dealt with South Africa when he was the President.

Khumalo believes that Zuma views the MK Party as a temporary vehicle for financial gain rather than a long-term political one.

Zuma’s ultimate goal, he said, was to extract maximum funds and eventually attempt to deregister or collapse the party.
